The Company

Stockade Seed, LLC was founded by Monte Thompson in 2025. Stockade Seed is committed to producing high-quality agricultural crop seed through sustainable and regenerative practices, with a long-term goal of transitioning to organic seed production to meet the growing demand for cover crop and small-grain seed in the United States.

Target Market

Customers include cover crop distributors, forage seed companies, regional seed retailers, ranchers, regenerative farmers, and organic producers seeking non-GMO and organic transition-compliant seed. Sales cycles align with post-harvest planting windows—primarily July–August for peas and oats, and spring for 4010 peas.

Operational Overview

Stockade Seed will begin agricultural crop seed production in the 2026 season. The company will acquire and develop a 480-acre farm in Sherman County, Texas, with 360 irrigated acres dedicated to cover crop and small grain seed. Because there are few producers of organic cover crop and small-grain seed in the U.S., Stockade Seed will enter a high-demand and underserved market. Organic transition will begin as soon as is practical to position the company as a leading domestic supplier.
